A Dignified Ocean
A poem
Dignity
Digging at the roots
In the night
Escape the ground
Attempted trust in the unseen
Go ahead
Save a tender lock
And part ways with a dream
For the ship is sailing
Alas without a map
She’ll try to call you back
The haunted song
Been hearing
Now strange is comfortable
And comfortable
Is hideous
Desecrate my city.
Adrift a time
Is the water home?
To be here awhile
To make it known.
Sanctuary seed?
Upon the sea
Upon my foot
Grown in me
